What Mike does on house calls
Whether you're looking to rekey your home, upgrade your hardware, or install a new lock from scratch, he has it covered. In practice that means:
- Rekeying so old keys stop working, after a move, a lost key or a tenant change
- Lock upgrades when the hardware on a door is worn out or not up to the job
- New locks installed where there wasn't one, or where the old one is beyond saving
- House lockouts, when the keys are inside and you're not
- Euro profile cylinders, rekeyed or replaced
- Hard-to-match keys for older or unusual locks
Rekeying: the cheap way to change who has a key
Rekeying changes your locks so a new key works and every old key doesn't. The lock, the handle and the deadbolt stay on the door.
That makes it a good fit when:
- You just bought a house and don't know how many keys are floating around
- A key was lost or stolen
- A roommate, tenant or contractor no longer needs access
- You're tired of carrying a different key for the front, back and side doors
Rekeying is also when you can put several doors on one key, as long as the locks share the same keyway. If they don't, replacing one or two cylinders can get you there.
Unbelievable locksmith! We had more than 1 problem and he fixed everything! Mike rekeyed our home, made a key for our Honda Accord, and opened our safe which we had lost the combination for! I called several locksmiths and most would just do cars. Others just rekey lock. Mike fixed all 3 at a wonderful price! I highly recommend!
Euro profile cylinders

Euro profile cylinders have a distinctive shape: a round top with a narrow tail below it, held in the door by a single screw through the edge. They're common on patio and sliding doors, uPVC doors and doors with multipoint locks. They can be rekeyed like a regular cylinder, or swapped out entirely if the cylinder is damaged or you want a better one.
Worn locks and broken keys
- Locks and keys heavily worn and working on and off? Don't spray WD-40 or any lubricant into the lock. It does more harm than good. Call to schedule an appointment.
- Broke a key off in the lock? Don't try to remove the broken piece. It's easily pushed further into the lock, which makes it harder to get out. Call to schedule an appointment.
Locked out of the house
It happens to everyone eventually: the door swings shut, the keys are on the counter. Call Mike, tell him where you are and what kind of lock is on the door.
Hi...we recently locked ourselves out of our house ..called Mike at Aspire Locksmith, he is our longtime friend ..he was at our house quickly and had us in enjoying a cup of coffee ..thanks Mike you never let us down
A word of caution for lockouts in general: this is where most locksmith scams happen. A low phone quote that turns into a much bigger bill once a lock is drilled is a common pattern. Ask for the business name and a price range before anyone heads your way. How to spot a locksmith scam.
Keys for unusual locks
Not every lock takes a key from the hardware store. Older locks, odd brands and one-off hardware can take patience to match.
Aspire Safe and Lock is a great choice. It is a full service business that can handle a problem with professional help. My situation was unique finding the right key for my lock. With a lot of patience with searching for that key, they came through to fix my problem. I highly recommend Aspire Safe and Lock. I would not hesitate to use them again.
The home safe, too
This is where Aspire is different from most residential locksmiths. Many will tell you they don't do safes. Mike is a safe and vault specialist first, so if there's a closet safe, a gun safe or an old safe in the basement nobody can open, he can deal with it on the same visit. See safe opening, lost combinations and gun safes.

Questions people ask
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
If the locks work and you like them, rekeying is usually the simpler choice. It changes the key without changing the hardware, so old keys stop working. Replace the lock if it's worn, damaged, low quality, or you want a different style or function.
Should I rekey after buying a house?
It's a good idea. You don't know who still has keys from previous owners, contractors or neighbors. Rekeying makes every old key useless, and it's a good time to put all your doors on one key.
Can you get me back into my house if I'm locked out?
Yes. House lockouts are part of Mike's regular work.
Can you rekey a euro profile cylinder?
Yes. Mike has rekeyed euro profile cylinders, the kind often found on patio doors and some newer entry doors.
Can you open my home safe on the same visit?
Yes, and it's the part many locksmiths don't do. One customer had a house rekey, a car key and a lost-combination safe all handled by Mike. See safe opening.
