Safe work in Fox Chase
Fox Chase is quieter and more suburban than the lower Northeast: twins and single homes on tree-lined streets, Burholme Park, the Fox Chase Cancer Center campus, and Pennypack Park along one side. Two kinds of safe problems are worth knowing about.
1. "We need to change who has the code"
Not every safe call is a lockout. People move, families change, a contractor or a former partner knew the combination. Changing a combination is a planned visit, and if the lock is already acting up, it's better to replace it now than wait for it to strand you. See combination changes.
2. "The keypad died"
Most failures to open are battery related. If the battery isn't it, the keypad or the lock may have failed. See safe won't open and electronic safe locks.

Gun safes
A gun safe that won't open is stressful, and people often feel a little foolish about it. They shouldn't. Failed keypads and forgotten combinations happen to careful owners. Mike has worked on Liberty gun safes, and he handles keypad failures and lost combinations. See gun safe service.
Why call Mike
Mike is a mobile safe specialist, so he comes to the house on the call rather than waiting for you to bring a safe to a counter. He works alone, so you deal with him from the first text to the finished job. He is a member of the Safe & Vault Technicians Association.
A few months ago, I needed to get a back up fob for a new-to-me car. Mike was amazing! Super communicative, flexible, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend using his services.
For house locks, Mike also rekeys, replaces and upgrades locks. See residential locksmith.
Questions people ask
Can you change my safe's combination without opening it?
If nobody knows the current combination, the safe has to be opened first. See combination changes.
My keypad beeps but the safe won't open. Is it the battery?
Most failures to open are battery related. Mike recommends only Duracell Procell or Energizer Industrial batteries, dated five or more years out. If the battery and the wires are good and it still won't open, the keypad or the lock may have failed. See safe won't open.
Do you come to the house, or do I bring the safe in?
By appointment only, some small safes and lock boxes can be dropped off and picked up at a later time. But for the most part, we travel to the safe since we are a mobile service.
