Business locks

Commercial Locksmith in Northeast Philadelphia

Panic hardware that won't latch, a door closer that slams, missing file cabinet keys, or a building with too many keys in too many pockets. Mike Schiavone repairs and replaces commercial door hardware and sets up master key systems, and he's a safe specialist for the safe in the back office.

Short answer: Mike repairs and replaces panic hardware, door closers, locks and lever sets, replaces missing file cabinet keys, and designs master key systems for businesses. Call (661) 927-7473 or text a photo of the door hardware, or email it to info@aspiresafeandlock.com.

What Mike handles for businesses

In his own description, the job is to identify and resolve "KEY" issues: the everyday hardware problems that keep a business from opening, closing or staying secure.

Fire exit doors and panic hardware

A panic bar, also called panic hardware or an exit device, lets people leave a building by pushing on the bar, without a key and without fumbling with a knob. That's why they're on exit doors in stores, offices, restaurants and anywhere people gather.

When one stops working right, it usually shows up as one of these:

An exit door that won't secure at night, or won't open easily in an emergency, is worth fixing quickly. Mike can repair the existing device or replace it.

Door closers

A closer controls how a door swings shut. When it wears out or loses adjustment, the door either slams hard enough to rattle the frame or drifts and never quite latches. On a back door or a fire door, a door that doesn't latch is a security problem as much as a nuisance. Closers can often be adjusted; when they leak or fail, they're replaced.

Storefront doors, locks and lever sets

Glass storefront doors use narrow aluminum frames with their own style of lock and cylinder, and office doors often use commercial lever sets that see far more use than anything in a house. Mike works on both, repairing or replacing the lock and changing the cylinder when keys need to change.

Master key systems

As a business grows, keys multiply. Before long nobody is sure who can open what. A master key system fixes that by giving each key a defined level of access:

  1. Individual keys open one door or one area, like a single office or a stockroom.
  2. Sub-master keys open a group of doors, like everything on one floor or in one department.
  3. The master key opens every lock in the system, for the owner or facilities manager.

Mike builds the system around how your building is actually used: who needs to get where, and when. It's a good project to plan before a renovation, after staff turnover, or when you've simply lost track of the keys out there.

File cabinet keys

Lost the keys to the file cabinets? It's a common office problem, and for businesses that keep records in locked cabinets for compliance, it's an urgent one. Mike can make keys for missing or broken file cabinet locks without forcing the drawers or replacing the cabinet.

The safe in the back office

Many commercial locksmiths stop at the door. Mike's specialty is the safe. He works on store safes, deposit and drop safes, under-counter safes, ATMs and teller cash recyclers, and he can change a safe combination when an employee leaves. See business and ATM safes, combination changes and, for banks and credit unions, bank and vault services.

Questions people ask

Can you install or repair a panic bar?

Yes. Repairing and replacing panic hardware on exit doors is part of Mike's commercial work, along with door closers, locks and lever sets.

What is a master key system?

A setup where each person's key opens only the doors they need, while a manager or owner carries one key that opens everything. It's planned around how your building is used.

We lost the keys to our file cabinets. Can you help?

Yes. Mike handles missing or broken keys for office and compliance file cabinets, so you don't have to force a drawer or replace the cabinet.

An employee left with a key. What should we do?

Change the locks that key opens, either by rekeying or by moving to a master key system with better key control.
