Short answer: Mike can originate, duplicate and program car keys and fobs, make keys for motorcycle ignitions, and handle car lockouts. Call (661) 927-7473 with the year, make and model. Most keys and fobs have to be ordered, so the sooner you call, the sooner the job gets scheduled.
What Mike does for cars
- Originate keys: make a new key when there's no original to copy
- Duplicate keys: a spare cut from the key you have
- Program keys and fobs so the car recognizes them
- Spare fobs, like a backup for a car you just bought used
- Motorcycle ignition keys
- Car lockouts, when the keys are inside and you're not
He can originate, duplicate and program automotive keys and fobs without the dealer cost.
Why most car keys need programming now
Most cars built in the last couple of decades don't start on a cut key alone. The key head holds a small transponder chip, and the car's immobilizer checks it before it lets the engine run. A remote fob or smart key goes further, pairing with the car so the buttons and push-to-start work.
So a working car key usually takes two steps: cutting the blade (if it has one) and programming the chip or fob to that car. That's why a copy from a hardware store kiosk may open the door but won't start the engine.
Keys programmed where the car sits
Dealers often want the car brought in, which is hard when you have no working key. Mike comes to the car instead.
I needed a key programed for my Son's Honda Accord. The vehicle had been parked in front of my house for over a week because of a faulty starter, other locksmiths told us they couldn't program the key until the starter was replaced. Mike came out to the house programed the new key and also cut it. He quoted us a very reasonable price as well. Great service, I recommend Mike for anyone needing a locksmith.
That job is a good example of why it's worth asking more than one locksmith. Other shops had told that customer the key couldn't be programmed until the starter was fixed.
A spare fob before you need it
Bought a used car that came with one key? It's a common situation, and it's much cheaper and less stressful to add a spare while you still have a working one than to originate a key after the last one is lost.
A few months ago, I needed to get a back up fob for a new-to-me car. Mike was amazing! Super communicative, flexible, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend using his services.
Motorcycle ignition keys

Motorcycle keys get lost more easily than car keys, and plenty of bikes sit in garages for years after the last key disappears. Mike has originated keys for a motorcycle ignition, making a working key with no original to copy.
Car lockouts
Keys on the seat, doors locked. Mike does emergency vehicle lockouts.
my parents live in Philly area and were stranded at restaurant with keys locked in car and used aspire safe and lock and mike came and got them in and on there way promptly . very professional, Knowledgeable and very fair pricing . I live out of state and looked them up by searching locksmith on Google and took a chance and it worked out great. I highley recommend and would give more stars if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One honest caveat: Mike can't guarantee a specific key or fob will be on hand. Most need to be ordered and scheduled. Getting you into the car is one job. If the key itself is lost and needs replacing, that part usually means ordering the right key or fob first.
What Mike needs before he can quote
All of this is required for car key and automotive emergency work:
- Your full name, address, phone number and email.
- Year, make and model of the vehicle, and where it's located.
- Is it an all-keys-lost situation? And are you locked out right now?
- Push-to-start or a keyed ignition?
- The type of key: a remote head key, a flip key, a non-transponder key or a key fob.
- How many buttons are on your current or lost key or fob.
- How many keys or fobs you want programmed.
Proof of ownership is required. You'll need to show current insurance with a matching VIN, name and address.
Keys and fobs bought elsewhere: Mike does not cut or program keys or fobs he hasn't supplied. If you bought a fob online, he can't program it, but he can supply and program the right one.
Keys, house and safe from one locksmith
Car keys aren't Mike's specialty; safes are. That's what makes him useful when the problems pile up. One customer called several locksmiths and found most would only do cars. Mike rekeyed the house, made a key for the Honda Accord and opened a safe with a lost combination. See safe opening and residential locksmith work.
Mike works out of Mayfair and covers Northeast Philadelphia and lower Bucks County. See the service area.
